Privacy Policy
Last updated June 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nami ML Inc. ("Nami ML," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the rku command-line tool, the rku dashboard at hub.rku.dev, and the website at rku.dev (together, the "Service").
rku automates the Roku Developer Portal on your behalf so you can publish Roku channels from your terminal or your CI/CD pipeline. Because the Service acts on your behalf against Roku's systems, some of the data we handle is the credential and channel data you give us to do that work.
Information we collect
Account and identity
You can create and sign in to the rku dashboard in several ways:
- GitHub or Google single sign-on (SSO) — when you authenticate through GitHub or Google, we receive your account identifier, username or name, and the email address associated with that account.
- Email and password — if you register directly, we collect your email address and store a securely hashed version of your password (we never store your password in plain text).
We use this information to create your account, authenticate you, and keep your account secure.
Roku credentials and session data
To publish on your behalf, the Service needs access to your Roku Developer account. Depending on how you connect, this may include Roku sign-in credentials or a Roku session token. We use this data solely to perform the actions you request (such as creating channels, uploading packages, and managing products), and we store it in encrypted form. We do not use your Roku credentials for any purpose other than operating the Service for you.
Channel and build data
When you publish, you provide channel metadata and application packages. We process and transmit this content to the Roku Developer Portal to complete the operation you requested.
Usage and technical data
We collect standard technical information such as log data, device and browser type, IP address, and how you interact with the dashboard. On the rku.dev website we use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic. We use this data to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
How we use information
- To provide the Service and perform the publishing actions you request.
- To authenticate you and keep your account and data secure.
- To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- To communicate with you about the Service, including transactional and support messages.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Roku, Inc. — the Roku Developer Portal, where your channel operations are carried out.
- GitHub and Google — for single sign-on and authentication, when you choose to sign in with those providers.
- Cloudflare — for hosting, content delivery, and security.
- Our email provider — to send transactional and account emails such as verification and password resets.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
Cookies
The dashboard uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to operate the Service. The website may use analytics cookies to measure aggregate usage.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us. We may retain limited information where required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
Children's privacy
The Service is intended for developers and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
